TMC reaches out to the people PDF Print E-mail

Tripura Medical College & Dr B R Ambedkar Memorial Teaching hospital, providing the best medical care to the people of the state has started to reach out to the masses. Several health camps were organized in the recent past where doctors from this ISO certified hospital collectively provided medical care to thousands of locals. The focus was on the under developed parts of the state including tea gardens and border villages.

Here is a look into the health camps held in the recent past.
The first health camp was held at Durgabari tea estate, Sadar North where six doctors including Deputy Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Prabir Saha were present. The total number of patients who received free treatment in this camp was 124.

The second health camp was held at Binpara ( Lankamura ) in association with Hope Multi Service Institution, a local NGO where seven doctors provided free medical care to  124 patients.
The third health camp took place at Laxmi Lunga tea estate in Sadar North . Here too six renowned doctors provided free treatment to 94 patients.

Doctors from this hospital were also present in two health camps held jointly with two BSF battalions. In the first health camp held in association with 22nd battalion BSF at Putiya in Sonamura subdivision 688 patients took the benefits of the best medical care . Here 10 doctors from this hospital took care of all the woes of the patients.

The second such camp was organized at Hrishyamukh in Belonia subdivision in association with 34 battalion BSF where over 800 patients were given critical care by six doctors from this hospital gave instant relief to the patients.

Finally, on March 30 two health camps were organized, one at Aralia and the second one at Paschim Bhubanban, two backward areas in the vicinity of the state capital. The camp at Aralia was organised in association with Lioness club while the one at Paschim Bhubanban was organized in active cooperation with Palli Mangal Sarada Samiti, a NGO working for the development of women. Prominent dignitaries including Mrs Panchali Bhattacharjee and DIG, Mr B K Roy were present in these camps where nearly 500 patients were given medicines free of cost. Chairman of Universal Empire group Mr K Balachandran Nair who visited one of the camps made it clear that it will be the effort of TMC&H to serve the masses across the state. This is part of the social commitment of GENET towards the people of this state, he further stated.
