Terms and conditions applicable for MBBS Admissions ‘07Curriculum and Duration Course: MBBS No: of seats: 100 Duration : Four-and-half-years plus one year Compulsory rotating Internship Curriculum: As per Medical Council of India guidelines and as approved by Tripura University Eligibility Criteria a) Age Candidates having their date of birth on or before 30th June 1990 (at least 17 years of age as on 30th June 2007) and should not have crossed the age of 25 years as on 30th June 2007 are eligible to apply. Any relaxation in upper age limit is subject to special permission. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard / school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic. a) Educational Qualifications The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent in ONE attempt (exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds and the decision of the Principal, Tripura Medical College will be final and binding). The last two years of study should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Candidates studying in foreign countries following a syllabus other than any Indian syllabus should produce an Equivalence Certificate from The Association of Indian Universities, A.I.U House, 16 Kotla Marg, New Delhi 110002. Telephone: 011-23231097, Fax: 011-23232131, a) Minimum Marks Candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination should be 40%. These are stipulated by MCI in their regulations for medical colleges. a) Entrance Test All candidates excluding NRI/PIO (person of Indian origin) should appear for the Entrance Test conducted by the Tripura Medical College for admission. The seats for the NRI/PIO candidates will be filled according to the qualifying examination merit. Verification of Documents All admissions are subject to verification of the original certificates and documents produced by the candidates. The decision of the University regarding the eligibility of any applicant shall be final. b) Rank List A Rank list will be prepared on the basis of Entrance Tests, conducted by Tripura Medical College. It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite qualifications for admission, having been called for written test / counselling does not necessarily mean acceptance of the eligibility. |
